Maryland Department of Juvenile Services

The Department of Juvenile Services is committed to developing and maintaining positive, collaborative relationships with the community in which our youth are served. It is the intention of DJS to ensure that youth in our care receive the services they need to become self sufficient productive adults. We look to our Advisory Board to help us cultivate new resources, enhance our programming and services, manage our challenges and celebrate our successes.

Our objectives are:

	To serve as a platform designed to assist with bringing the Department of Juvenile Services' vision to reality; using focus groups, national experts in Juvenile Justice, and drawing on the experience and wisdom of the Facility Advisory Board members.
	To use the collective and individual talents of the Facility Advisory Board to advise DJS in matters that relate to the effective operation and improvement of DJS programs and facilities; and to promote public understanding of DJS goals and initiatives.
